The guitar solo in Firth of Fifth is incredible. One of my favorite solos and I am a sucker for guitar solos.

[2] Their Britishness outmatches even Iron Maiden's "The Trooper" and Pink Floyd's Animals.

Tull are probably the most British prog band but yeah Genesis aren't far behind.

after hearing Bursting Out on an impulse buy (three bucks for a prog live album shit mane), Tull is far more "british" sounding, while Genesis in its political leanings of the early stuff is quite "British".

tbh Bursting Out makes Tull a bit more interesting to me.

Not really Tull love in this instance Omair, simply pointing out the facts. More British doesn't necessarily mean better... but yes Tull are better ;)

@Fripp: Tull were one of the best live bands in the 70's for sure (judging by live recordings/video footage), glad that album's helped you get into them a bit more.

It was not until I heard that album that I was able to really get into Tull myself.

Have you seen the Live at Madison Square Garden DVD, Nag? It's from the same era as Bursting Out and is another great representation of their live show.

The set list isn't as extensive as Bursting Out's, in fact some of the songs that were played that night weren't filmed (they can be heard on the bonus CD that comes with it, which includes the whole show) but it's great to be able to see their live show when they were at the top of their game, Anderson was such a natural show man.

Well, it only took 24 years but I finally have a soft spot for prog.
