Album is good, but it sounds like they're trying a little too hard to sound like Meshuggah at times.

Oh, wait. I'm not including Meshuggah in the "djent" genre. Meshuggah rules, and fuck labeling them djent.

Meshuggah contained a few elements (out of Meshuggah's nearly endless list of facets) that Djent groups tried to make a sound out of. So in a way they're a precursor, but they're so much more than that.

I enjoyed this review very much, and I feel that it reflects the album very nicely (pro-djent or anti-djent, I think Vildhjarta definitely deserves honorable mention for this album). I loved the personal background revolving around a trip in China. The care and thought that go into writing reviews are often also the "weight" that goes behind the words that are used to describe the music. Maybe I liked the review so much because the reviewer shared my exact same views as to the possible futures of Vildhjarta as implicated by this album. This can either evolve into something truly amazing or something truly horrifying. Or, if we're lucky, both.

I love how new users to the site write lengthy paragraphs on the inner meanings of reviews and music and by the 1000th comment they're just commenting "Hawks is gay" everywhere like the rest of us.
