I'd probably go with Hell Awaits and Seasons over RiB most days

outside of the first and last songs, RiB doesn't really blow me away

yea i didn't mean to imply that I don't like it, just that the majority of it's at like a 3.5 level

for me (bookended by straight classics), where HA and SitA are more like 4-4.5s all the way through

as far as 80s and early 90s output goes I'd probably put Slayer behind both Megadeth and Metallica

overall

I love Anthrax, but outside of Among the Living, Spreading the Disease and Persistence of Time, most of their albums are mediocre

Spreading the Disease is my favorite from them, but I don't think it's better than this, Master of Puppets, Rust in Peace, Peace Sells, Hell Awaits, etc.

"going back to the previous page, I'm not even 100% sure that Reign in Blood is Slayer's best album"

Probably not, but it is surely their most defining and influential work to date.

Today i learned the intro from The Call of Ktulu. The whole song isn't that hard to learn, but the introduction segment is really difficult.

yeah their early instrumental epics, which are based mostly in minor chord progressions, are a great challenge plus you will definitely improve your skills.

Really they're easy as hell in the grand scheme of guitar, but perfect for beginners and moderately-experienced players so yea I'll agree with that
