lol I really did offend you guys. I'll step back on Evanescence because I said that to sound smart but I honestly believe some of the guitar work relates to A7X. Listen to the album again and pay attention to some of the scales they use and the pace they execute, and also the exact tone and distortion. It doesn't happen often but you'll hear it. Other than that the band does not at all relate to A7X. It just those parts that stuck out to me because I'm a diehard A7X fan.

haha..oh and maniac, awesome to know you like KsE. THE TIME APPROACHES! I was obsessed with that album with no limit for a while.

To Altmer: Re-read where I pointed out the connections. They don't sound alike its just the occasional guitar areas that relate. Give me a minute to find a sample...

Ok, in Silence This Parasite starting at 1:35 and ending at 1:53 listen to the guitar. Now listen to Sidewinder particularly from :53 to :59. Theres lots of parts in City Of Evil that are faster than the sample I gave from sidewinder that are similar to the sample Silence and a few other parts in songs from FoaSE, and its hard to deny both instances share similar tone. You can also listen to Eternal Rest from "Waking the Fallen" from 2:15 to 2:22.

Dude, there's this one Johnny Cash riff that sounds straight from 'Unholy Confessions '

Your profile image is the art work of Fables of a Sleepless Empire; You KNOW there are more instances where the riffs sound like my example. They are not identical to the sound of A7X but closer than I've heard from any other band. I'm guessing the guitarists are using the same or very similar pickups. And if I listened to that Johnny Cash song, I would hear the riff and connect it to A7X like you say. The music is no where similar, but I still make and recognize the connections. Nothing wrong with that.
