Yeah, Hypnotize and Lonely Day are singles off it. The next single off this is really a toss-up, the two easy choices are already gone. Soldier Side and Holy Mountains are the best, but may be too controversial.

I wonder how many other reviews will get 71/72.

Ok guys, everybody knows that the lyrics in "Lonely Day" are grammatically incorrect, but this isn't the first song to do this. "I can't get no satisfaction". HORRIBLE grammar, but it became a hit and the song is still played today. The difference is that "satisfaction"'s grammatical errors made it sound like a bad-ass song, while "Lonely Day"'s errors make it sound like an 8 year old wrote it.
Maybe he'll write a song about the "Bestest Day in the Universe".

I don't know why you guys don't like "Hypnotize" (the song). I found it beautiful. And "Soldier Side" has become one of my fave SOAD songs. The order:

1) Aerials
2) Toxicity
3) Chop Suey
4) Soldier Side

As for Daron. He's a great guitarist and a so/so singer as lead (and perfect for background vocals), but I think he's trying to steal SOAD from Serj. I'm serious guys. Watch any of the latest music video's and count how many times Serj's face appears and how many times Daron appears.

Lets look at it from all angles now. lately Daron is: writing the songs, singing the songs, appearing more in music videos, forcing Serj into a backup singer, and his father did the album covers.
Lately Serj: is takeing it up the ass from Daron.

I don't like to say it like that either, I think Serj is amazing. Thats why I'm a little worried guys.

You're entirely right. And System of a Down is taking a long break right now. Coincidentally, Daron is also planning to release a solo project. Ugh.....

The solo project and SoAD will sound almost the same I'm betting.

at least I know I'm not the only one that see's what's going on.

And also, Daron's a little "fake" if you know what I mean. Look at the "thanks" at the end of the Mezmerize booklet that comes with the CD.

Everybody thanks somebody except him. Serj said something like "all living and non-living who inspire". I thought that was awesome and just the sort of thing you'd expect from Serj. But Daron didn't thank anybody. his was like "blah blah sign papers and kill stuff. government pig" or whatever.

A "Thank you" section is no place to be political and it's a little over the top to put political messages in that section when they just did an entire album on political messages.

the fact of the matter is that Serj does it for the music and Daron does it for the publicity.

Why, because he has views on the goverment = sellout. I don't think so.

No, not just that. Tf_inuyasha is entirely right. Serj is real, and Daron is fake.

no, because he has his head so far up his ass that he doesn't take the time to thank anybody, not even the guy he's stealing SOAD from; Serj. Daron would still be singing backup and SOAD would be themselves if Serj didn't let him do all of this. But Serj, being the nice and reasonable person that he is, respects the fact that Daron wants to take a swing at it.

But yet, no "thank you Serj" or "I'd like to thank our band"

How so? Well, Daron is trying to steal Serj's spotlight. There is no question that Serj is the better singer. And yet Daron seems to be trying to snag the lead vocalist spot for himself. Also, Serj is barely ever in the videos anymore. Who does all of the interviews? Daron. He just wants to hog the spotlight.

Daron wrote all of the material, and does a big part in the vocals, it makes sense he

would be in the interviews. And he's not trying to steal Serj's "thunder", he's merely

trying to be a part in the band that makes them better.

not to mention I get the feeling that Daron was trying to pull off a "stairway to Heaven" with the last two "Daron only" songs (Lost in Hollywood and Lonely Day)

I refuse to listen to Lonely Day. By the way, did you know that Daron played bass on all but three of the Mezmerize songs? Nobody buy Daron's solo act, make him return to SOAD with his tail between his legs.
