Everything sounds distant and dull but it’s not done in such a way that it feels intentional for the sake of atmosphere. If I were working on this album I would have gone for a much sharper, more present, more forward-sounding style on the mix.

Wow that's a very different take. Production can make a huge difference, so I can see why you'd give this a three if you experience it that way. Still sad though...

Even though I love this I sort of agree with the mix criticism, since someone brought it up. I remember trying to find other versions online to see if anything was wrong with my mp3s, cause the album seemed dull and distant as itwasthatwas said, but they sounded the same so it was just the album. Maybe it's like Gamma Knife by Kayo Dot where it just needs to be played loud.
