That being said, all of the other 8 tracks are the definition of beautiful pieces of musical art

I find the title-track to be an excellent and beautiful way of finishing the record on a calm and serene note, with a rich acoustic and organic sound. That being said, I'll admit it's slightly too long for what it has to offer

Avalon is quite pointless though

Avalon works in context imo but I would never choose to listen to it alone.

I mean, of course they aren't bad, they're actually quite a pleasent listen, but when you compare them to the rest of the songs...

Yeah I see your point. Personally I love the title-track, but I agree it's not as interesting, powerful and beautiful as many of the record's other songs. Contextually though I think it serves as a brilliant finale after Olsen Olsen's climax.

Yea Avalon isn't as great everything on here certainly paints a beautiful picture. They really are one of the best post rock bands out there.

Godspeed's the only post-rock that's better from what I've checked

(Haven't checked much though, besides those two bands I've only checked Talk-Talk)

EDIT: Oh and Kayo Dot but that wasn't really my thing

Mount Zion is quite different, more punk-ish and experimental in its influences. The only album of theirs I truly liked was Fuck Off

Maybe I just don't like punk? Either way I remember having an awful time with that album. Sput does love them a lot though.
