@considerphlebas I have read your posts about this album, if it wasn't for the lyrics / story would you still have it as a 2 or even a 1.5? It seems you dislike the concept more than the music.

I don't rate the way some people do on here, by giving points to individual aspects of an album. I try to rate the whole package. The music here ranges from completely average to good, so with decent lyrics I'd probably go for a 3 or 3.5. The lyrics are poor, though, and the concept has been rinsed of any real worth, which drags the whole thing down.

I think with some bands the way you are rating them works, for this too. But for me all aspects of the album come together brilliantly and I love the concept. Although a 4th album with these characters would be testing even me.. who loves defeater.
