I've only heard (a little) earlier Dødheimsgard so I can't be sure, although I'm instinctively guesstimating that the two aren't all that similar outside of avant-garde / black metal tendencies and being Norwegian
This is absolutely essential. Sounds almost as fresh (probably) as the day it was conceived. Eagerly awaiting the day where I'm based enough to 4.5 this

Early impressions are this feels like a cross between King Crimson (circa Red) and Deathspell Omega with a bit of that Norwegian BM magic in the mix. I'm digging it.
