Well apparently it was on a compilation called Anomalies that I never heard about until now lol. But tbh I think it’d fit well on the album regardless

I love Cave In to death, but i just can't really get into this one only, due to it being purely metalcore. I can deal with the Deathcore of (the early) The Contortionist for example, but aside from my appreciation of the technical skill and it's influence this doesn't reasonate with me. Does anybody have recs, how i could maybe still warm up to this?

"due to it being purely metalcore"

This isnt even purely Metalcore its Mathcore and it still has some of the Sludge and Space elements of their later albums in it alongside the Mathcore. How is a song like Ebola just Metalcore?

Though maybe Transfer Trachea by The End is worth trying. Its Mathcore but has much longer melodic sections and is even more technical than this.

I knew someone was going to remark that - well yeah, tiny elements of their space sound i can hear (most prominently in Juggernaut), and mathcore is a derivative subgenre of metalcore afaik. Sludge is hardly there though imo

Thanks, i'll try that

Well yeah but describing a Mathcore album as purely Metalcore is kinda weird to me considering that Mathcore implies its Meralcore with Tech/Prog influence so I cant see it as purely Metalcore, whatever that would be like anyways.

This album is up there with calculating infinity for my favorite metalcore album. Still hits hard to this day.
