'If this really is like Jimmy Eat World, then I'll probably like them a lot.'
Lol. Davey, you misread, or I just mistyped (or both) that comment. By 'this', I meant Only Every Time, but by 'them', I meant Jimmy Eat World - my bad. I came into the music game very late so I never bothered listening to Jimmy Eat World.
But just as well, I suppose. 'Cause (only) every time I hear something close to this album, genre-wise, I just feel like muting the song and just going back to listening to this album. At this point, I have difficulty picking out my favorites.

Oh, I get you now chipmunk. When you get a chance, listen to the album 'Bleed American'. Amazing stuff which I am certain you will like very much.

So I finally listened to Bleed American. I loved it. Especially the first track. My only problem is that it got more pop, yet less energetic by the middle of the album. I didn't quite like their slower songs (which there were plenty of) because they certainly weren't anything like Pull Me In.

I can see where you're coming from, but there is a depth to JEW's slower songs which do take a little time to unravel... especially those on their next album 'Futures'.

Words cannot describe how much I love this band.

Those words go close.

jimmy eat world are incredible. try futures. got so much depth and it's so cohesive and atmospheric. this album is awesome. in fact, i'd say it's more similar to futures than it is bleed american, because it has a similar dark atmosphere (at least to me). futures is better though, because it has more variety.

Don't you know the band's still around?
Well 80% of them. Listen to this, it rocks: http://thesunandthesea.bandcamp.com/album/nightfalls
They're called The Sun and The Sea now.
|

well. i can't thank you enough for that. i guess they wanted to continue progressing with their more mature sound without being under the constraints of their original genre expectations. i like.

You're welcome. I hope you like as much as I did.
They are the future of this band. I can't wait to see where they go from there.

They reformed because they're lead singer (fortunately and) unfortunately got married and had to move
to another town with his girlfriend (can anyone else see the music video of Pull Me In in that?).

wait... this is a different singer?

You didn't notice?
Hahaha, the new singer does an excellent job replacing Corey. I still miss the guy though.
|

sounds the same to me. this band is good. but i kind of wish they'd carried on in the alternative rock, JEW style, but added more variety, rather than going completely into experimental indie.

Yeah, a part of me will always agree with that. I actually hated this album when I first heard it - I thought it was boring as hell.
Now it is one of my only three 5's.
They say Corey is in another band of his own - who knows what he'll be doing. I have no idea what band it is, though. I WILL find out some day.

and when you do, let us know here. cheers.
