... I don't know if it has been discussed here before, but the overall similarity in vocal melodies (and other elements) between A Media Friendly Turned For The Worst and Under a Killing Moon by Thrice is a real mystery to me... like wtf? It seems like a direct reference to that song.
Wow, I've never noticed that before. Yeah I wonder if that was on purpose.

"That’s rough, cause everything before All Hail is better than it"
I meant All Hail introduced me to NJ and I can't get in to anything before Meridional. I think this and Wrongdoers > All Hail but not Polar.
But with that said I don't know if I gave their earlier material that much of a chance so I'll have to go back and listen to it again. At the time I was just like eh take me back to Wrongdoers plz cuz those albums were still new to me.
As far as that Media Friendly Turn for the Worse song sounding like Thrice, ya I noticed that immediately. Like it literally sounded ripped straight from artist in the ambulance.

Go check out the bandcamp version. They removed all the interludes and included the bonus songs within the tracklist. Makes all the difference.

@Artuma, not madness.
First albums kinda blow, though they have that raw screamo thing going for them. if I listened in 2002, maybe I coulda liked. but listening to them now, they're pretty sophomoric. Good builds to dry climaxes. Lyricism also like wallowing teenager in comparison.
but ya some good songs before I guess. not that many tho and very few songs good in their entirety.
I feel same way about your dig tbh. "END" another sort of raw, almost good band that isn't good yet. They'll probably be good later, but they still kinda just pump out turds claiming they're really heavy. Almost heavy... but still soft as butter lol

this album would heavily benefit from a remaster. The production is very flat
