also i like this more than i used to but

All rappers are somewhat cocky. They all say they're the best even if they suck. Drake seems like a cool guy.

i just really enjoy this idk what else to say
|

Isn't there a specific reason why you like it? For example the lyrical themes, his voice, the beats...
|
| |
ive explained why i like it and people have shot it down multiple times but for whatever reason i still like it the same afterwards
i love the beats, but not only that but also "the production"--which usually most people think of (rightly, probably) as synonymous. by "the production," i sort of mean the way everything sounds. there's a sort of unifying sound here (with one or two exceptions, maybe), and it's amazing. mostly beautiful stuff (the first two tracks in particular). his rapping isnt amazing technically, but i just like it, because i feel like it's real. he spits often a bunch of lame lines but those lame lines often feel funny/awkward in context, in a good way.
so idk

I can see how some people might be fooled into thinking this is good, but there's just so many other hip hop acts that deserve the attention so much more than this guy. Maybe it's just me but the disparity between his popularity and actual output quality is fucking huge

Review reads more like a 2 or 3 almost, I wasn't really convinced it was that bad lol

Drake isn't much of a great rapper to be honest. Rather...he works with some really cool production/producers. And he matches the vibe out pretty well. It's a neat chill time vibe that the album carries that his peers/label lack.
Of course theres other chill/atmospheric hip-hop type stuff such as Dalek or Clouddead which is much more abstract and lyrically complex. Drake is obviously more poppier in sound so thats going naturally appeal to people more vs. whatever underground stuff is out.

I mean the instrumentals are pretty indie-based so I see why you wouldn't like this
