Travesty that this got the same aggregate as Gamma Knife rather than Hubardo

yeah k. dot averages are kinda all over the place here. definitely a band that invites a wide range of opinions on their material though, so ig i get it

Their material is a lot closer together than the averages suggest so far. Then again I've only recently delved a little deeper, so this could be a perspectives changing over time sort of deal

Part of me wishes they explored this general direction a bit more, but the other part of me realizes that would devalue this album a bit.

I'm intrigued to see what Gamma Knife has to offer (atmo-black tag on RYM... hmm okay) and how their development continues and eventually culminates in Hurbado...
(which I have already heard and didn't like anywhere near as much as I theoretically thought I might do at the time, s'alright tho)

jfc don't mind me while i downvote that (does need a bm tag but it sure as shit shouldn't be atmo). deeply cracked album though, delivers the goods where it counts but you'll see quickly while it's no one's favourite despite being pretty favourably regarded

Apparently I gave GAMMA KNIFE a 3/5 but I cannot even remotely remember how it sounds.

Great album. Not as immediate as some of their other work but it is still impressive.

I feel like there's an air of jeopardy in using caps, like you're unhinged and just wandering around with a blade. Threatening behaviour

This comes up, like, once a year. It's a very old carryover from the early days of internet forums (i.e. think USENET) that hadn't figured out rich text formatting yet. When talking about movies, it was common practice to denote titles in all-caps to make them easier to spot and discern among a gigantic wall of unformatted text, especially if the title itself could cause confusion grammatically. Made sense to apply the same consolation to album and book titles, too, whenever those were being talked about.
Clearly no need to maintain this stuffy tradition. But some habits die hard. And others persist through stubbornness and an increasing need to feel idiosyncratic.

I see. This, I did not know.
My presumption was entirely... "And others persist through stubbornness and an increasing need to feel idiosyncratic."
