Don't really see why this is held in less regard. This is overall more consistent in it's songwriting, having little samples and being so direct always gives the song direction while Skinny Fists falters in parts with poor build up/pay offs however the highs on that are higher than this.

I'd argue otherwise. This album falters BECAUSE it's so direct, focused, and structured. It lacks the natural space made in the meandering nature or their first 3 projects. They feel more like a post rock band on this album and less like a force of nature.

I think first and last track of asunder are some of the most epic Godspeed moments. Yes, in my morbid fantasy I wish the two middle tracks of asunder were fused in a single 10 minutes long song, and the album would become a long EP
