yeah the metal(ish) parts are dildos
like, i get why they're there. but they don't have the same effect as the walls tripped-out sections.
fuck, and time flies is still incredible to me.

Yeah other than Anesthetize, every attempt of being m3t4l Wilson has done is just so fucking dull.

The arriving metal section is still my fav.

The blind house is such a wasted opportunity. Could've been a great song but it ended being so boring, especially the ending (Strip The Soul had a better use of the slow heavy wall of sound riff that TBH tried to emulate).
Listening to this atm again.

Actually yeah the metal section in Arriving isn't that bad, but it wasn't really necessary. I like the rest of the song better.

Arriving wouldn't be nearly as epic without that section.

I like it until the chugging section. What that shows up it's just kind of like...oh...okay.

I drive the hearse is one of porcupine trees best songs. Great album.

Not nearly as mediocre as some make it out to be. Time Flies and Remember me Lover are some of the best Pt songs ever.

^ add to those I Drive The Hearse and Bonnie The Cat. This record is so underrated.

"Time Flies" is one of my top 5 PT songs of all six albums I've heard by them.

The individual track called "The Incident" is a favorite of mine, as well.

The full 50 minute song is amazing, but the segmentation is kinda weird.

"The full 50 minute song is amazing, but the segmentation is kinda weird."
Yeah, the segmentation is what I meant. Track #6. It took a while to grow on me, for sure, but the
oozing darkness of the first half and those glorious harmonies after...it's like a trip into the
psyche of someone who pretends to have serious mental problems, but really just craves attention.

oh yeah. I love the contrast in that one, especially the part when Wilson sings "I just want to be loved" underneath the dark atmosphere, and the song suddenly transforms.
Also what i meant is that some parts of the "epic" seem to work better individually and don't flow as part of one united song.

I slightly prefer the previous one but it's still great. Although Grace for Drowning was good I really hope Wilson goes on and makes more music with PT.
