As a fellow European I had a fun time in America because I had learnt most of the american language from videogames and movies, where slurs are used so often in gangsta/rap ways that we think it's funny, over the top language, to make you look tough. I went to music festivals and there were black people in my group all the time, so the first time I used the n word like it was a funny gangsta term they looked at me kinda confused (I literally said: Hey what's up ma n....? paroding as a gangsta rapper). The second time one of the black ladies laughed and took me away and explained everything to me. She was amused in a way of course haha. It was funny, yet kind of disturbing to think I could have been taken very wrong in another place/context. Same happened with the correct pronounciation of some words like bitch/beach. Funny memories man...

lol I remember when my old account got banned when I (among other things) used a word that was same as the word jurtz used but began with g and I literally thought it was just a silly harmless word hitherto... so you can't say that sputnik isn't a culturally enriching experience
