The fun thing about this album and band in general is that even though the songs are so predictable and tame, you don't mind because the melodies are so good. Imagine how good they would be if they could, say, mix up the drums a bit more or throw in a tasteful technical death metal solo here and there

Kind of sounds like early Insomnium with less grasp on atmosphere, but even without the atmosphere Insomnium knows how to write a riff or two, so it's a good time
