"Obsidian is a beastly album sure! Very underrated"
It's my least favorite Nevermore album, but there's still a lot of good stuff on it. Termination Proclamation, the t/t, Moonrise, and And the Maiden Spoke are all great tunes... really, the biggest problem I have with the album is that it's a little too stripped down. I understand that they wanted to go for something simpler (as they even stated in interviews), but one of my favorite attributes of the Nevermore sound is the way they merge complexity/technicality and catchiness. Just wish the album had a few more Termination Proclamations on it tbh
Still, just goes to show how incredible their discog is, when even their "worst" is still in the ballpark of 3.5/5
