Are you referring to the stuff he did on "Slim Shady LP" as underground??

It's about as far from underground as you can ever possibly get, with Dre producing it!!

It's hardly Jedi Mind Tricks is it?

(Edited for spelling mistake!)

I actually thought this was a rather solid album, especially considering the 4 year hiatus. Yes, it's not the same as the previous' but... it's not supposed to be. Yes, there is room for improvement and yes he could have done better overall, but the album is not half as bad as people make it our too be.

Fav Tracks;

3am/My Mom/Hello/Stay Wide Awake/Must Be the Ganja/Deja Vu/Beautiful/Crack a Bottle/Underground/Ken Kaniff

Personally, I enjoyed the album and will continue to enjoy it for a long time to come. Looking forward to Relapse 2, which could/should be a classic (If Em can get back in the zone).

First listening to the Flobots and then this; this sounds pretty good. Eminem isn't up to snuff but I don't agree that he's lost it because his age. If that is the case, then we are all doomed. I think that he put out a commercial rap/pop/hip hop album. Who blames him? Make some catchy songs, some "ill" beats, and get paid! I'll enjoy a few songs more than once. Doesn't mean it sucks.

the accent isnt annoying; its just overused. its very effective for rhyming words that dont normally rhyme but he just used it TOO much. the lyric subjects arent anything to snuff at either

I finally got around to checking this whole album out and I didn't find it to be all that bad. The only song I really didn't like at all was Crack a Bottle, and of course there was the notorious accent, but other than that I thought it was pretty decent. Definitely better than Encore.

wtf! why is he rapping like he is the middle eastern guy at the 711 totally whack, eminem in my opinion is one of the top 10 rappers of all time.everything went down hill with his lyrical talent after the eminem show.only reason i gave this a 2 was because beautiful the only song worth listening to on this album because it's genuinely heartfelt, truly sad what has become of eminem's career.

I don't think its awful, I can actually somewhat enjoy it sometimes, there are some glimpses of his former self which gives me just a little hope for the next album. Actually if it wasn't em this might have been seen as a better record, its just that this was so dissapointing.

When I first listened to this back last October, I actually enjoyed it. I was just then getting into hip-hop, and it seemed a hell of a lot better than anything played on the radio. Five months later, after I've heard some good underground hip-hop and have matured some in my hip-hop taste, I think this album is garbage. Sure, there are some good songs every now and then, My Mom, Same Song & Dance, and Medicine Ball. And their are some great tracks like Insane, Deja Vu, and Beautiful. However, other than that, this mostly fails as a hip-hop album from one of the greatest rappers out there. Perhaps "Relapse 2" will be somewhat better. I'm sure me and every other old Em fan would hope so.

1? Its not that bad...I actually throughly enjoyed this album, Sure it's no Marshall Mathers LP or Eminem Show but its definitely a step up from the embarrassment that was Encore, As for the accent, Yeah it can get annoying and no doubt I prefer it when Em just threw it out there in the aggressive tone but as annoying it is, I can sort of tolerate it, Just wish he didn't do that shit on songs like 3 a.m. for example.

I guess I just liked the album more than 95% of others. Thought it was an interesting look into a fucked-up drug addicted brain, where he spends most of the time just eviscerating himself. Not sure how the rhymes are laid back, say what you will about the subject matter but the I thought the wordplay was nasty.

Even Em didn't seem to like it much though, calling "ehhh..." on his new single. I think I like it better than he does. Oh well.
