Music when playing Dota or something Rimworld like is a must. No way I'm gonna play something of my own when it's witcher or Subnautica tho
you get the point

I read into the lyrics while listening to this this morning and I am truely moved. Had to bump this up a notch.

ikr
on the other hand, I also had to take my time to appreciate this album. I bet most of these lads just randomly tuned it on, played album once and went "hmpf". TDH wasn't known at the time so you wouldn't expect this album to be good and when you're not used to ammount of background "whoooooah" it can present itself pretty weirdly

yea, TDH are a unique breed and this album isn't an immediate experience. The production isn't that good either, but the songs are so great and the album has such a nice flow. I don't know many albums that convey as story so beautifully as the Acts tbh

Idk it was pretty immediate for me back in early 2015
I never realized how amazing the lyrics were until actually reading them [2]

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I17haL7TOnY @kalk might want to check this for all the motifs, I was staggered by how many I missed

Oh yea, that video is amazing! I watched it some months ago and there are just so many ... I never expected this amount of recurring motifs lul. It doesn't feel like TDH repeated themselves on all these tracks at all

yeah it is really quite staggering indeed

What really bugs me about these guys is the fact that i can literally buy a TDH baby onesie but not their actual music CD ON THEIR OFFICIAL HOMEPAGE, c'moon. What an absolute troll band.

On a side note, i'm feeling really ambivalent on this one. Genuinely loving the first half, but second half is missing something for me to connect with that i can't seem to put my finger on.

dont listen to this album too much anymore cause I get choked up at a lot of parts, but I think I remember not liking the second half the album and then it grew on me over time

Second half has my favorite song of theirs, Where The Road Parts is so good

Going through the same development as Tundra rn. Have to confess i've always been a fan of the more proggy elements by this band, but that album has a much more delicate and immersive character that i am about to recognize just now. Feels strangely nostalgic and close to the heart in some places, although i know that's technically impossible.

Yeah tracks 1-7 on this are perfect.

this style of prog rock will take some time to grow on me, I think, but this is really solid.
