"New Millennium Cyanide Christ is so m/"

Two bottom string notes for an entire five minute song. So metal.

The solo mid way through Neurotica is so sexy in a dirty way. Probably one my favorite moments in this album.

Repetitive album. I love how unique Meshuggah is but this album becomes white noise quickly. The last few songs are good though.

This album IS white noise, that's why it's so baddass!

Nothing else they've done is this dissonant or misanthropic.

The riffs themselves aren't that interesting, and then you hear the one uninteresting riff for 5 minutes. I have Catch33 at 4.5, and one of the biggest factors for my rating is the fact that the riffs, even ones played for minutes and minutes, are great/interesting. Other than that, Catch33 has a lot of interlude-type moments that tie everything together. A perfectly crafted album, and one I see myself rating 5 in the future.

I like dissonance when it is used as a tool and not as the actual foundation for an entire album.

RYM has it as

Nothing > DEI/Catch > Chaosphere > ObZen > Koloss > Contradictions

but I agree that Catch has the edge on Nothing. Best album.

Zak that's probably my ranking except Nothing and Chaosphere mysteriously change places at times.
