Lol, that's funny. I never saw that. Still, saying something is unmemorable doesn't mean that you won't remember it anyways. Take Soulja Boy's atrocious debut: it is surely not WORTH remembering, however, it's unavoidable, it was so bad that it sticks in my mind.

I stumbled onto this page while wading through google & reading some PtH discussion. Sorry, but I couldn't resist chiming in, even though this is an old review and the album has been out for almost a year. Before I say any more, I'll agree with some others before in saying that you seem to be, technically, a good writer.
I have to say though, I really didn't understand your chiding tone from beginning to end. It's like you have some personal investment against the band. I get the feeling you aren't at the right stage in your musical tastes/development/whatever to appreciate what the band is offering. The songs aren't supposed to be coherent, at least not in the way you're used to. I know what you're trying to say, in a way, because it's the way I felt when I first heard Kezia, but once you get what they're doing (a mix of overt "metal-ness", with some concepts that are pretty out there, but in a mostly facetious tone), it's just all the more interesting and enjoyable.
About the album: It's metal, yeah, but it's all in a fun, tongue-in-cheek kind of way. They're just rocking out, and happen to be really good at it. Every member has extreme chops (which you'd have seen first hand if you'd gone to their show...:-P) and the songwriting is blatantly leveraging that fact to their advantage. I wouldn't fault them for that as you do. As for the lack of flow in their songs - well, that's the whole point. It's supposed to sound frenetic, that's the fun of it (maybe that's not fun for you?). It's different. The more you listen (without dismissing it purely on the basis of it being different, a.k.a. not like the songwriting you're used to), the more it makes sense.
Regarding the complaints about the vocals: I completely disagree with your "forgettable vocal performance" assessment. The vocals are dynamic, the range is impressive, and I think the tone of his voice is great, especially with the notes he's hitting routinely. Again, they're supposed to be over-the-top, intense, even jokingly so. At the same time, it's really creative writing and unafraid of stepping on anyone's toes. The lyrics are great.
By the way, that line "somebody’s little girl/dreams of the things she’s read" isn't in falsetto, and neither is most of the album (save perhaps at most one or two lines per song, for short parts). And yeah, those are insanely high notes he's hitting on the harmonies...lol.
I'm not trying to convince anyone to change their mind about anything, I guess I just wanted to offer another outside opinion, having never been to this site or even been much of a "review reading" guy at all. Carry on...lol.
