Thom Yorke quote: (for CelestialDust) "If I were to be any celebrity, I'd be Chris Martin. I've always wondered what it would be like to be jealous of Thom Yorke."

oh Caleb, what am i to do with you? War is a phenomenal album. promise me you'll take another listen to New Year's Day & Sunday Bloody Sunday...there's no way you can say those songs are anything short of greatness--lyrics included.

the Unforgettable Fire is really good though, you're right.

Joshua Tree and all their albums prior to Joshua Tree. they own this easily

another comparison would be Radiohead...they've got several albums better than this.

I get extremely tired of people saying they sound similar but Stan is right.

The Joshua Tree >> OK Computer >>> this

haha actually everyone on this site has great music taste relative to the majority of society. i'm not sure how my dad couldn't be proud of that lol.

oh wait...he hates harsh vocals. that could have something to do with it.

Not Viva la Vida, but High and Dry sounds like Yellow

Yah I know but my point wasn't about their older material. Parachutes has a heavy Bends influence. Their new stuff sounds nothing fucking like it; that was my point, and I was talking to whoever said they still sounded like Radiohead to him.

well the influences are obvious, i'll put it that way.

but i'm not saying it's a bad album. Yes is a really good song, and a couple of others are ok too. there's just nothing distinctive about it...if you've heard the songs once, you've heard 'em a million times.
