Was honestly expecting a big slump in quality with this album, but it's not far off from A Rush of Blood To The Head. If anything this is just a bit more bloated in places, and could do with trimming a few songs off to help the pacing. But this is a pleasant listen overall, makes nice background music for work.

definitely gonna be taking this down a peg, wish this had more muscle like on "Low" or "Square One." they don't even sound like they're having fun except for "Talk" which fucking rules. "The Hardest Part" too is a classic even tho it sounds completely off for the album

The chorus of White Shadows is so catchy

Never really got why this is often considered particularly weak. Like sure I get that it's Coldplay "on autopilot" but... it's just their third LP? Doesn't seem that severe of a situation to me. They seem confident more than anything I'd say, and they themselves knew it was time to tweak the formula for the next album
