The singing is often flat on this album, the song writing is superb though

I often find the vocals to be quite dynamic... But ok.

The vocals are the same throughout the entire album. No agressive parts or held back parts, just sort of the same reverberated, long sustained notes.

static and flat are different terms, but to each their own. I would say that Convalescent and Sorry But It's Over sound quite different vocally. But that's just silly old me.

people always complain about the vocals on this album...you either get it or you don't

@eno: give leitmotif a try if you haven't already, vocals a significantly more "raw" and "varied" and "awesome" and stuff

It seems like he progressed with hitting right notes in later albums. Does anyone agree?

Yeah leitmotif has been suggested to me before, I guess its time I give it a spin.

mastery of vox as an instrument as evident on CWA and Pariah...................stellar vocals on all albums in my opinion. The lyrics on this album are some of my favorites period though.

and babies are boooooooorn.....in the same places that people goooooooooo...........to pass awaaaaaaaaaaayyy

I know this girl who thinks of ghosts,

She'll make you breakfast, she'll make you toast.

She don't use butter.

She don't use cheese.

She don't use jelly, or any of these.

She uses Vasaline

Well the difference is Dredg thinks they've come up with something deep and extremely clever with that line, and it's sung with such passion, but comes across stupidly and the line isn't deep or clever at all. Those Flaming Lips lyrics aren't supposed to be good, they're meant to be silly.

I know man, jokes...jokes. The lyrics that mean the most to us aren't necessarily the ones that are most profound

I do, however, consider that to be an amazing line. Triangle makes this album for me.
