Was just listening to this again last night, absolutely amazing stuff
I love how the Fermented Offal Discharge solo can be so technically impressive while still being as emotionally charged as it is

Yeah Fermented Offal Discharge is nuts, I honestly like Advanced Corpse Tumor's solo just as much though. I really like how FOD doesn't even need that much shredding and is still fast as fuck.

Spent the last 2 days solid trying to learn the Advanced Corpse Tumor solo and it is quite literally the hardest thing i've ever attempted. It's probably the easiest solo for one mistake to completely fuck a run of it, especially that ludicrously fast shredded section in the middle (before it absolutely explodes).

I'm more of the rhythm guy tbh. A lot of these solos seem very not approachable to me lol

"I'm more of the rhythm guy tbh. A lot of these solos seem very not approachable to me lol" The rhythm in Necro is actually harder because of the stamina required. ACT's intro is super hard
Avagantamos yes it's awesome

Yeah it's all pretty unapproachable tbh lol. I've been considering trying to learn Diminished to Be for awhile now. Always been my favorite song of theirs. I'll get to it at some point. Stamina isn't really my issue when it comes to most things but the sheer number of notes in a lot of these solos just seems like a mountain to climb

Stabwound is the only Necrophagist song that I can actually play to an extent, but it's still tough as hell
I imagine Diminished to B would be one of the easier ones by them, although I guess that's not saying much

It definitely seems to be one of the easier ones to me. Don't know what it is exactly but the main riffs in that one always stuck with me the most. Also the first song of theirs I'd heard which probably also plays a role

Stabwound is manageable if you can do the intro. The leads are pretty easy by comparison
Diminished is a more accessible one also, just that one more complex riff before the solo
Seven is their easiest song

Also I guess I will go ahead and tackle learning Diminished and Stabwound. I've played guitar for a long time now but I've never really went out of my way to learn many songs tbh. I learn some riffs here and there that are favorites but for the most part I pretty much just come up with my own stuff and improvise. Outside of Obituary- Redneck Stomp (which is literally just 3 riffs) and Darkthrone- Transylvanian Hunger it took me damn near a decade to learn any other songs front to back, and even then the number of tracks I know is very low. Feel like I need to change that though. Think I've been playing for 15 or 16 years now. I've got so many riffs I've come up with just waiting to be unleashed but I can't meet a damn drummer in my area to save my life. Really want to get a couple projects going though. Desperate enough at this point I've been considering making another craigslist ad seeking a drummer. I know a bassist already and if I buy another one I could lay down the bass myself. I can do vocals also but when I try to do vocals while I play I can't stay in time for shit lol
