For some reason I find it difficult to make it all the way through this album. I love it but it can feel really long (which I suppose it is).

But some of transitions aren't as refined as they are on later albums, and having so many musical ideas can make an album feel longer than it actually is. You know what I'm talking about.

@Omair: I guess but lots of twists and turns generally make an album more engrossing in a lot of scenarios. I don't mean they make an album better but they can make an album that might be bordering on boring or overlong more consistently interesting, at least with this sort of style of music.

This will never top Morningrise for me, but I've gotten to where this hits me harder than any post Still Life Opeth. The melodies on here suit the Halloween atmosphere very well also.

This, Still Life, and MAYH are pretty much neck and neck. I can never come to a conclusive ranking aside from Morningrise being the absolute best for me.

Pretty much, except BWP would be higher since facupm, Choccy, Mongi, me, Friday, and lots of other regular posters consider it their best. GR and SL would probably be 4.5+ also

It really irritates me that this is only 0.1 points better than PC on average. It's head and shoulders above it imo.
