Tbh most people that consciously identify as "punk" are adopting a branded image of counterculture neutered and re-assimilated into comfortably capitalist molds. Provocation is more incendiary as an idea, but its also not inherently political in any one direction because it's defined by what's it's reacting against than what it's reacting towards, so you can have left-wing radical provocation, but also fascist sympathizing a-la GG. All counterculture now is threatening towards neo-liberalism, but that doesn't make the horseshoe theory of the radical factions true like the neolibs want people to believe ("Antifa are fascists!!" and shit)
