I think I might like their other albums more (although I haven't heard them in full yet) just based off a handful of songs I've heard from 'em (excluding Omni). This is so beautiful: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5HWc5Gn6euo&list=FLxBtAvaavjSTLZxRy9DMcuw&index=4&feature=plpp_video

This is the best MTB dude. It's the most chill, the most together album they've ever put out.

I think I might prefer their older lyrical themes. I can't comment on how those other records stand up against this as 'albums', but so far I've heard individual tracks that I think are better than most of what's on here. I won't deny that this is an incredibly smooth and fun listening experience though. Lately at work I've been singing songs from this in my head to help pass the time. "She's gone, she's gone across the border, man - and you're never gonna see her again!"

Haha see that you've upped this to a 4. I agree, a lot of the songs here are just fun to sing as well as listen to.

damn Gyro! This is is the part that used to stick in me too. I remember playing basketball and quietly singing this line!
I think highly refined pirates is as good as this

Lol, yeah I forgot to raise my rating but I've been digging this quite a bit this year (more in the former half, but still). I'm really looking forward to digging in to their discog when I get off work.

omni was one of the biggest disappointments i've ever had. this album was so awesome. vocals get stale so fast tho after listening to them for a while, probably why i fell off on omni

what Ire said
this is perfection, Omni is mostly forgettable.

planet of ice was my biggest inspiration in my guitar playing. knudsen is the man. wish he would showcase his tapping skills a bit more upfront tho as opposed to buried under layers of effects. this band is still together, correct?

yeah they're still together though I wouldn't mind if they broke up. I've seen them twice and they've been just ok both times, and they'll never release anything I care about even as close to as much as I care about this album.
and I'm with you on the guitar playing thing, this album is basically what I try to sound like when I play

Minus The Bear is key for roadtripping. I drove down to Charlston with each MTB album on shuffle and singing along to each song. It definitely helps you forget the about treachery of passing through the Appalachian mountains on Interstate 77 in a torrential downpour.

White Mystery gives off them good vibez. if Minus can make another album like this... that would rule...

when they first came out with the promo video for omni that had 'into the mirror' riff playing on repeat i thought the album/song was going to be amazing, then i heard actual song and realized i had pretty much heard all the riffs in that song already
