Oh, nice, didn't realize you posted a list until now (must've scrolled right by it), good to see 'Low' so high, definitely my favorite Bowie and one of those albums I constantly return to when I can't decide on something specific to listen to. There's never a bad time for 'Low".

Strange take indeed. Admittedly TVC15 irks me ever-so-slightly, but fortunately I managed to get over that initial dread. That's the song, not the user.

This is perfect otherwise.

I feel like we've had this conversation before, but TVC15 might be my favorite after the title track haha.

Which other classic-era Bowie albums is this closest to?

Me neither, am excite now! Although Diamond Dogs is the most ‘essential’ Bowie I haven’t heard yet I guess.

Comparing this to Young Americans is setting you up to be disappointed in Young Americans because they really don't share the same sound at all

tbh this album is unique, the closest to it is, in fact, YA, but it's still very different.

SMDH at being disappointed at YA, that album owns lol.

The bit where he signs ‘transition’ for the first time is genuinely grating and I don’t really know why, maybe the fact the song itself is transitioning makes it a little too on the nose and absurd, idk. Not sure if that’s accidental.

Fortunately I love the album regardless, but the t/t and the ‘w twins’ are king.

"SMDH at being disappointed at YA, that album owns lol."

I love Young Americans, but this is closer in style to the Berlin Trilogy than it is the funky soul of YA.
