Not quite a 5 but it is amazing.

For me the best part of the entire album is thwhen the acoustic part in Des medecins gives way to that heavy part. It sounds so triumphant and cathartic and militaristic like someone is pillaging a city or like... The physicality of a battle. Fucking awesome. Best song here imo

If only Famine would've retired from music after L'Ordure a l'etat Pur.

God why does some of the best BM of this millennium have to be made by such a piece of shit.

Thank the second wave for that. The reactionary ideas and edgy facade naturally became a convenient cover for actual fascists. I reckon if the first wave had achieved the same popularity and evolved naturally there would be less of a problem within the genre.

Famine is an odd dude but damn if he doesn’t know how to write a sick riff. The production is perfect I think although I know some might disagree

Still remains one of the best BM albums of all time.

Some would probably disagree, but this is absolute peak stuff.

Some favorite moments: Riff at 3:20 in Le Mort Joyeux, solo in Laus tibi Domine, final riff of Spleen, the entirety of Phalènes et pestilence, the acoustic section at 1:27 in Dueil Angoisseus, and that brutal final riff in Des Medecins.

It's really extra, but wouldn't call it top BM. Top French for sure though!

+ I'm not sure if this is the beste Peste in the first case.

i agree ballade or the self titled are their best for me the self titled and ballade are tied, such great riffs on Ballade and the self titled is so intense and has more of those voice samples, it sounds super dark i love both albums

a bleak outlook on life is something both fascism and bm share in common, pretty easy to see why they would overlap at some points

I don't mind them, some decent tracks but a mixed bag/style and not the level of those first 6 albums. No doubt it copped a lot of extra low ratings for his racist views and that album cover.
