Hard for me to understand why you can't 1 certain albums. If they're so universally loved then a troll or two wouldn't really bring the rating down and people would be able to actually rate things the way they should be rated (in their opinion).
there are people on rym who rate things 1.5 = "good" and the albums' averages still make sense so why should it be different here.

That's true - even with the lowest rating possible a 2 (except for that one 1.5) there are only 24 2s and 25 2.5s, so clearly there wouldn't be that many troll ratings. I mean, the site already has the minimum possible rating set at 1/5 as opposed to 0/5.

if you really need to rate it a 1 just do so on rym or something. it's not that important, just rate it a 2 and call it a day

If you legitimately want to rate something a 1, that's fine. But you should be able to express it better than "LOL THIS SUX"
BTW, I'm not talking to you bridges, I'm just saying it in general.
Especially for an album like this that is so universally loved, you SHOULD have to back up your reasoning. But I think you should have to do it for any album that you rate a 1.
Than again, maybe I'm just super biased.

this isn't a 1. music is a subjective experience yes, and this album is the antithesis of instant gratification. but considering its influence and overall quality, it's expected that you have a damn good explanation as to why it's worthy of the lowest possible rating you can give. a better explanation than "i listened to it once and it was boring"
