^^^That's hilarious that you said that because that's the first band I thought if lol.
Lots of tech death and metalcore bands are what I find to be way unnecessarily loud. Some prog too.
Conversely, I've found most bm (especially atmo) is much quieter. This is maybe a little more towards the louder end of the spectrum but I can still pick out all the details on my good headphones pretty easily without making myself deaf.

Fallujah is stupid loud. Unearth is really loud too but they bring the riffs (and have breakkdowns that are actually good) so I forgive them.
Commuic and Persephone come to mind also.

Bergtatt and Still Life and Hail Wind are NOT loud at all. Ne Obliviscaris and Moonsorrow are not that loud. Neither is We Lost the Sea.
