Have you guys seen that one video from like 2000 where he's giving lessons on white pony songs and he starts sweep picking out of nowhere? I don't want him to leave Deftones, but he probably should start a side project, since Chino has like a 20 of them. The majority of their songs post Around the Fur have been pretty simple chord progressions, with the occasional single note riff, and Chino plays like all the leads and clean guitars live now.

Sad to see that with Stephen. I think they had similar bad times during SNW which backs up the theory after hearing P/T that this album could be quite similar to SNW.

I think the thing stopping KNY from being more like SNW was that there are more heavy guitar moments and the songs don't get as much time to breath. Would love some Cherry Waves moments on this new one.

Personally I think the S/T is the darkest and heaviest album. Not so much because riffs and breakdowns but it just feels really bleak and moody except for Minerva and Lucky You

AtF is probably their front-to-back heaviest but the heaviest moments of S/t make it look vagina in comparison
