Well, the first 3 albums definitely require a certain mood... I find they're tremendous in the fall and winter, but less so in the spring and summer. Given the right atmosphere, though, they're head and shoulders above the rest of Opeth's discography.

My Arms Your Hearse still ranks among my favorite Opeth albums. I said it in another thread, but the ending of When is simply one of the most beautiful things in rock music. And Credence is pretty much an untouchable ballad
