The 'at the bottom of the ocean fish won't judge you by your faults' is my least fav line on this entire album, both lyrically and because of the actual vocals.

Haven't jammed in a while but I'm becoming convinced that this is their best. At least tied with TD&G for their most consistent.

Gonna have to disagree with that one. TDAG at its worst is still pretty great.

TDAG, this, and Daisy are all very close in any case.

Daisy is more consistent than TDAG lmao but that's only because I think Archers is barely good at best

Archers is prob the weakest song on TDAG but "barely good" is a stretch for me

Batter Up is the best BN closer, such a good way to finish

I guess its not so much the line, its the way its delivered more so. Like the song covers some serious subject matter of psychological issues and to have it be said in a non serious way just takes away from how genuine I find the track's lyrics to be. I guess the fact that I feel strong connections to it on an emotional level make it's lack of seriousness frustrating.

Can you guys still listen to this? I just keep thinking about what a god awful person Jesse really turned out to be.

Honestly yeah I can because despite him being shitty I find that it doesn't makes the emotions expressed less believable if anything it makes them more believable because I could see why he would think so lowly of himself now.

yea he certainly wasn’t overexaggerating how much of a piece of shit he is for the sake of presentation. it really changes how i think about their entire catalogue now

yeah it makes the albums seem that much more personal now, but I do admit there's a few tracks that take disturbing new meaning after the news
