Mother Tongue is easily the worst thing they've penned in YEARS, but I'd still say it's roughly a 2.6-ish track tbh.

Listening to this for the first time and these lyrics....it's so bad.

If Amo sounded like the first and last tracks I'd 4.5 it with no hesitation.

It'd probably be a 4 if Mother Tongue was cut entirely and Medicine was more unconventional for me, tbh.

@Onion: Is this going to be another album that gets like 5-6 reviews on day one and half of them get lost in rotation? Fuuuck, it'll be Holy Hell all over again for me I swear to fucking god.

And for the entertainment. Sometimes you just gotta hear something bad. This did well but I'm not quite satisfied.

i mean its bring me the horizon so itd get a lot anyway. plus im tryna start reviewin on the reg more anyway, and this certainly gives me something to fucking talk about. but i may not even publish depending on if getting it out of my system just onto my computer would be enough to help me focus on gushing over how much i love the new say anything

@Luc: "Remember" alone is enough for me to give "Sinna" a 1, so yeah go ahead.
@Onion: Makes sense. I'm just hoping I don't end up having mine completely fly under the radar. ESPECIALLY given the length. If this was some 2-3 paragraph shite I pushed out in 15 minutes I wouldn't give a shit but this is probably my longest review yet.

Sugar Honey Ice & Tea is the worst song here for me. I don't like these distorted, high-pitched vocals that sound like a kid, they overuse them a bit here. Heavy Metal and Ouch also did nothing for me, but everything else ranges from okayish to pretty fun. Personally, I can see this growing because it sounds so unconventional and yet it's pretty easy to listen. Also they took a bit of a risk here by not playing it completely safe. I'd always welcome songs like Nihilist Blues or Fresh Bruises over some radio rock tunes designed to attract as many people as possible.

sugar honey ice and tea is exactly what it stands for, shit
on repeated listens im finding some pretty decent electronic work throughout the album (the intro track and nihilist blues especially). problem is, for every good idea there’s five bad ones, largely revolving around the overuse of pitch shifted vocals throughout the album that sound like ass. not helped by oli’s horrible lyrics and for the most part horrible vocal lines

there’s still a handful of edm shit on it but yea the 90s influence is occasionally worthwhile albeit usually for only a few seconds per song
