It’s amazing but still not even close to best.

^Black Lake Nidstång is one of their best tracks though.

Black Lake was one of my least fav here forever but I grew to appreciate it.

Agalloch have never had amazing songwriting but they were ahead of the curve for weaving post-rock into metal. This one has its moments but so many tracks are full of the most cliche goth rock and folk melodies (Ghosts of the Midwinter Fires ). Seems amateurish, but not in the way their debut was.

Also I'm surprised this one is only slightly higher rated than their last in 2014.
