This album is very good for long road trips too.
It's got so many reflective, atmospheric parts that it makes for a great companion.

So Did We and In Fiction are unbelievable; post-metal perfection. This is one of the best flowing albums I’ve ever heard.

The flow in this album is indeed a masterpiece inside the masterpiece.
When I think of perfectly flowing albums there are always four names that come to mind, Panopticon by Isis, Controller by Misery Signals, Fas, Ite Maledicti in Ignem Aeternum by Deathspell Omega and Choirs of the Eye by Kayo Dot.
These four albums feel like one big journey when listened from start to finish. It's like hearing a movie where your mind is the projector. Incredible experiences that transcend the music itself.

Never heard Misery Signals, but the rest of the albums you mentioned are my hard 5s because of the genius songwriting behind those albums.

I feel like Panopticon's name has just been sullied by those comparisons, especially Misery Signals. This really is seamless.

@Frost
That is precisely why I hold The Galilean Satellites in such high regard. Just thinking about the reflective moments of Itinerant leading into the utter madness and devastation of Au Pays Natal raises the hair on my arms.
And Panopticon definitely matches it in execution.

Spinnin' this at work at the moment. Just incredible. The way the songs weave and wind around different melodies. That snare is the best sound snare I have ever heard too. I could listen to a full hour of that thing being slapped on its own and not get bored.

The drum production is indeed insane on this bitch. Helmet‘s early albums also have a great drum sound, though ofc in a much more straightforward way

He did. A shame we will never get an album like this from Turner again
