"I've gleaned from Spanish language streaming shows that hijo de puta is literally the worst thing you can call someone in both Latin America and Spain."

Yes. "Hijo de puta" translates into son of a whore, but it's worse than that. Whore is a softer term than "puta" which is calling your mother a cheap whore/slut/bitch and all of that. It has a serious connotation most of the times. Latinos say "hijueputa" which isn't common to say in Spain.

I'm half spaniard/half latino so I would know.

If anyone of the two 'ripped off' either in the first place, listen to Stockholm Syndrome opening. As great as it is, I'm always like "great, now it's time for 46 & 2 at breakneck speed" whenever it comes on.

Holy shit you’re right. Maybe that’s why Stockholm is one of my favorite Muse songs.

"Ahah no man...just because the covers are really ugly...but yeah this one is better than any of those in every aspect (and nope...haven t listened to them but I m bloody tempted for a "whata fuck is this experience")"

Oh LOL this is hilarious and on point re. covers. All I can say is that 3776 album beats this into the ground ;]

Loving the You Lied vibes at the beginning of Descending. The track in general sounds like it could've been recorded during the Salival era.

Good man. I admire your persistence. Regardless of the eventual outcome, props for not giving up on this album.

I find it to be extremely immersive and encompassing, not distant at all.

If that is a compliment its kinda attached to the elegance factor...there's no show offs, or big hooks...somehow songs manage to stick in the head.

There's big value on close listen imo, but also it doesn't bother as background music. Smooth and soothing version of Tool...that's why I find conflict with the opinion that this is Tool relying on the past...there's their signature and their sound, sure, but different all the way from all past releases and very coherent with their life stage, and the comeback factor after 13 years...also I don't get the feel at all they were working on it since the last album, at least not in this final soothing form (I believe and know riffs and some ideas have been with them since always though).

Yeah, I think with that attitude this record is very enjoyable.

What I'm noticing more and more though is that the production of the drums especially leaves much to be desired. The section starting at 8:45 in the t/t is a good example of this

Sounds like Danny is hitting tin cans or something.

And again at 9:46, that drum roll

See these dudes live if they reach your town...that's all I can say to you. It definitely worth more its "overprice" than Madonna or U2 (and hey, maybe its not that much expensive ahah)
