Octa you’ve sort of expressed what I was trying to articulate in a much more accurate and considered way instead of just firing from the hip with unfair sweeping generalisations and I really resent your commitment to balanced and informed discourse.

Not sure about that, perhaps of their similarities, I think both records go for different moods.

Wait - are the five ISIS studio albums meant to each represent an Aristotelian element?

Celestial - aether

Oceanic - water

Panopticon - air

ITAOT - earth

Wavering Radiant - fire

ISIS is more like an iced hash rather than ice-cream. Dudes smoked a lot during the band days, Aaron Turner wouldn’t lie on that

Funny enough, Aaron himself has admitted to getting more paranoid whenever he got stoned and record material in the studio, specifically in the Oceanic era.
