Knife Prty and Change and are the highlights here for me but the rest leaves me quite lukewarm, as someone else in the comments put it.

It's really cool to hear how much their sound changed here though, I forgot they did not have a keyboard player from the start. Must've been such a cool record if you were a Deftones fan from the start

Yeah those are easily the best tracks. Also the opener and Korea

People often forget Frank contributed on ATF title track, "Dai the Flu", "MX" and "My Own Summer (Shove it)" so technically theres only one Deftones album without a keyboard player.

The ending of RX Queen is still so fucking sublime. Just pure atmosphere.

Frank contributed the weird scratching sounds on minus blindfold from the first album so technically he was there from the start

This has that nu-metal aggressiveness, but also a super ethereal atmosphere. Perfect combination.

It's insane to me that in a White Pony best tracks discussion, these four are mentioned before Digital Bath, which is probably the best song Deftones have ever written and easily the career highlight

Ya if I really had to choose the most essential Deftones song, like gun to my head it would be Digital Bath. That song is so fucking perfect. Just literally everything about it.

Idk if I’d say it’s my favorite (Rosemary exists), but just how it so perfectly encapsulates everything the band is about. Horny lyrics, Chino hitting ridiculous high notes, ethereal atmosphere, tight as fuck drumming, smooth ass basslines. Perfect song tbh
