Has been always that single ISIS album i did not particularly like too much, but it changed with the time
Heavy on rotation since COVID and SMO, since this album reflects heavily whats goin on with current society.

I love that this is a robertsona review and everything it represents. This must’ve been such an eye-opening, landmark release for so many. Weird how I ended up circling back around to this via other avenues (despite my initial exposure).

Wrote this 6 days after my 14th birthday, the 150k views is horrifying hahah

It holds up remarkably well and the fact you wrote it at 14 yo is something commendable. You certainly shouldn’t be embarrassed or ‘horrified’ by the exposure.

That opening's a bit corny but yeah really solidly written review considering. Also just being an Isis fan at 14 offers a certain level of kvlt status, I was still mostly on butt rock at that point.

Revisiting this. Still rules.
Cute review 14 yo Sona.

in hindsight this review was a brutally early peak on the long road down to https://www.sputnikmusic.com/list.php?memberid=422095&listid=196760

bout to metal so ahrd men m//
|

in layman’s terms: I am willing to check out some metal bands after basically a decade of ridiculing the genre because I have no consistency and that’s okay.

New billboards have appeared all over town, bearing the image of a turkey sandwich and the single word “HARLOT” in large, block letters.
These billboards have caused some confusion – both due to their ambiguous message and to the fact that the entire structure of the billboards materialized overnight in places billboards are not usually constructed, such as the living rooms of local homes, the middle of busy thoroughfares (causing multiple car accidents), and, in one case, directly through a living dog, who does not appear harmed by the addition to his body, and has carried the entire billboard around town while going about his usual canine business.

Great album but also possibly the most white bread post metal ever. I feel like this has the least personality of any ISIS release.
|
| |
Dunno if I’d call it the most white bread post metal ever when there’s like an entire 90% of recorded post-metal canon to choose from for that category uh, but yeah it’s always stuck out to me as the album of theirs that feels the least conceptual despite having such a strong stated concept
