Unfortunately I only saw Opeth live in a small show as one of the support bands of Dream Theater many years ago. I would love to see them as the headliners.

In a set of all old shit. IDK, he seems to have turned a corner somewhere along the line. I would not be disappointed with that at all.

Well I've seen opeth probably a dozen times and I'm getting sick of seeing the same songs every tour. They need to change it up or I'm gonna stop going honestly

I don't see why Mikael would be a diva about the old material. I only ever got the impression that he got tired of making prog death records, not the material he already made.



And that performance being just the old stuff is interesting. Does make me wonder if the next record will be heavier overall.

Yeah, and I get that it's a lot of their big "hits" but they have a huge discography and plenty of other fan favorites. Just seems kinda lazy like he doesn't care to practice any songs and just wants to play what he's used to. Plus as much time as he spends talking he could probably add another two songs most sets. Dude talks in between songs as long as the songs are lol

actually, last time they played one song from each studio album, which was a cool concept but for instance from BP they only played Harvest which is lame because they could've played leper affinity, bleak or even t/T

They have such a rich discography, it's kind of annoying that they don't switch it up often for shows. They have so many deep cuts they could dust off. I think Mike just doesn't enjoy playing those songs anymore

Opeth is actually one of my favourite bands in these days. In my opinion they don't have any weak work. Besides, they keep changing their music from album to album. They have the true prog spirit, a rare thing nowadays.
