Can't see Homme letting me down tbh, band never has.

Era Vulgaris was inconsistent but still had enough good tunes to pull it through.

Era is more slowed down and has a really grimy desert tone going on.

Definitely worth a listen man, some great cuts.

New one will problably show up in my top 10 for this year. Because it's Queens.

Isn't Era the one where they got the label 'robot rock' from?

'i've never listened to that one. didn't love ltp though.'

LTP is underrated, Era Vulgaris sucks. It's a 'noise rock' record with an underwhelming amount of noise & a lack of interesting ideas, the riffs are so boring & repetitive. Some people like it so worth a try at least.

Everyone saying the new song is boring, but it could be a contextual thing. They probably decided on the wrong song being the single. I'm sure it'll fit right in with the tone of the actual album.

"They probably decided on the wrong song being the single."

True, I would say they did the same thing using My God as the lead single for this album. I remember first hearing that song and being very disappointed.

My god is the sun didn't blow me away when it came out but it seemed like a solid return to form after era vulgaris

More importantly, it is quite different from the majority of the album imo

The same could be said for "Keep Your Eyes Peeled", nothing gets as dark as that song on here. haha

My God is the Sun isn't one of the best songs on here or anything but it's still really great. I thought it was an appropriate choice to be the single. The Way You Used to Do is fine but people are right about judging it in the context of the album.

Yeah, it's still not one of my favourites but it's competing vs a very high standard, has grown on me massively since back then.
