always so weird to hear the lack of reverb though. like not even a bit to 'soften' it. similar with some of Bowie/Iggy Pop's vox on Low and The Idiot. really dry and up front in the mix. it's jarring.

yea i think it's cool sometimes tho like shatters the illusion of listening to an album as this dreamworld and it's more like being in a room as a band plays or w/e
when done correctly it's way more immersive than shit like not cutting studio chit chat
(with the obv exception of andy warhol)

yeah gotta check! haven't heard a note of any of them. i vividly remember this album's release - pay-what-you-want digital first and then physical a little later. and hardly anyone was talking about how hard the album ruled.
