yeah this is a huge false equivalence. dynamics are just as much about subtle shifts of intensity as they are about bookending the far end of a max/min spectrum. this is why, say, "for dinner" by slint is one of the most dynamic songs i have ever heard the despite being played at whisper volume for its near entirety. a lot of aoba's best stuff is dynamic in a similar sense. if an artist *emphasising* dynamics is your criterion to project thoughtfulness onto their compositions, I'm not rly sure how much is to be gained here

I don't really know what difference there is between emphasizing dynamics or just playing more dynamically, all I'm saying is Sufjan plays more melodically with more variation in volume, Ichiko doesn't really do that as much, also is she even a classical guitarist or does she just play classical guitar
