rI?m not the biggest metalhead, but I thoroughly enjoyed this. I feel like the lyrics, while well written, don?t actually tell something very interesting in the songs and the albums as a whole, but I think that the reason why this album is loved so much is because the production is extremely varied and has aged really well. It introduces electronic elements, that I?ve not seen a lot in metal, and switches very often from soft fingerpicked guitars, to hard strummed metal ones, and it always sounds great. The drums are exceptional, I thought it was so cool, when they switched from metal to a kind of soft, swing drum with that jazz bass, in The Deadly Rhythm. Overall, I think this is a must-listen if you like metal, if you?re not, it could be interesting for you to check it out, although the lacking in the lyrics department can maybe leave you aside.r

Giving this a go right now, think I tried it once before like 5+ years ago when I wasn't into this type of stuff as much. Only familiar with New Noise

In the wake of our existence, in our parades and in our dances. Touch, see and behold the wisdom of the party program, essential in our lifetime and irresistible in our touch. The great spirits proclaim that capitalism is indeed organised crime and we are all the victims.

"a lot of this has either not aged well or always been a bit of an overreach"
I dunno, the majority of this slaps.

Opener, Rhythm and New Noise thru t/t are all at least pretty good. Everything else is either mid or too palpably disjointed to be as smart as it v clearly wishes it was

No love for Tannhäuser / Derivè or Summerholidays, huh?
|

Tannhauser has a load of good bits that almost brutally cancel each other out. Way too many ideas at work there, their songwriting reduces it all to scattergun jank :[ Frustrating track
