These days this might actually be my favourite Agalloch, never thought I’d say it. The atmosphere is top notch, love the darker feel here. Black Lake might be the best thing they ever did.

It's up there with my other 3 favorite Agalloch albums, but personally Black Lake went from my favorite track on this to my least. I love the atmosphere on it, especially the screaming section, but over time I found it less interesting than the other songs.

Some days when I want something a little darker and atmospheric from my Agalloch, this album just hits the spot. Good for rainy days and winter nights. Black Lake is a great song, but it grew off me over time. I think Ghosts of Midwinter Fires is the best track, but they are all excellent.

Agalloch are a special band because personal favourites seem to vary so massively between individuals. First 4 albums (& a couple of the EPs) all rule.

It’s nothing special tbh Demon, a lot of bands have these albums where people just don’t know which one’s the best, for example Deftones with WP, SNW and ATF or Radiohead with OKC, Kid A, IR or sometimes even the Bends.
But yeah, they are special, their never made an album that wasn’t atleast great
